Bio
ɛïɜ Akimichi Chouji ɛïɜ
All around, Chouji is just your average, fun loving guy. As a child, he had many self esteem issues due to his weight and the way people would make fun of them, but he has since overcome them, largely through the help of his best friend Shikamaru, whose care-free attitude rubbed off on Chouji just ever so slightly, and enough to give Chouji what he needed to realize that it was okay to be a little larger than the other kids-- he could still be a great person by having a good attitude and being a good friend.

Generally, Chouji is the kind of guy that anyone can approach and start a conversation with. He doesn't discriminate like most people do, because he knows how much it can hurt, and he's always willing to make a new friend. He likes to laugh and joke a lot, and is not adverse to having a conversation over a bag of chips or a cup of coffee. He generally cares for the people around him, even the ones he doesn't know very well, and tried to find the good in everyone he knows. He believes firmly in second, third and fourth chances, and will always forgive someone who apologizes sincerely.

As for his close friends, such as Shikamaru and Ino, he is fiercely loyal, and will do anything to make sure that his friends are safe. In fact, there are only three ways to get a rise out of Chouji: eating the last potato chip without asking, calling him fat, and threatening his friends or family. Chouji rarely gets mad, but when he does, it's a frightening sight to behold. With his girth, it's easy to use the full force of his body, if he needs to provide physical defense. He rarely gets into verbal arguements, however; he would rather simply walk away from an argument, verbal or physical, than fight. He'll only do so when he absolutely needs to. Because he's easy to forgiveness, he does not hold grudges-- for better, or for worse. (Unless, of course, you steal his last chip. But that is another matter entirely.)
Chouji's life started out just like any other. He was born to two loving parents and raised in a Tokyo suburb. He was a well-behaved boy who never hit or pouted or threw temper tantrums, and generally got alone well with other people, both children and adults. However, it was Chouji's misfortune that he took on his parent's large girl, and even as a child, he was a little pudgy. There was nothing particularly wrong with him; he ate a bit, but he also got his exercise, and while he was never the fastest runner, he was still active, playing with the other kids when they would let him. But it was because he was so slow that many of the neighborhood kids began to shun him, now allowing him on their team, moaning and groaning when they were the ones that had to have the fat kid on their team. Little Chouji didn't understand why they didn't like him, and after being shunned from yet another game of dodgeball for being too fat, he found himself alone at the park.

That day, Chouji not only received the best advice of his life, but also made a friend-- who would turn out to be his best friend well into high school.

Some time after running away from the game, Chouji's father came and tracked him down, obviously wondering where his son had run off to. Trying to comfort his son, he listened to Chouji's story, contemplated it once his son was done, and gave Chouji advice that would stick with him for life: one day, Chouji would make a friend who would see his true potential, what a kind person he was, and that would be the true measure of friendship. Perhaps it was coincidence, perhaps it was luck, or maybe it was fate, but shortly thereafter, another little boy wandered into the park, only to inform Chouji that he was sitting on his bench. Chouji recognized the other boy as one who had tried to stand up for him when the other kids didn't want to let him play, and even though it had little affect, Chouji was still grateful. But he still had to wonder why this other boy had left the game, a simple question that was met with a simple answer, that the game was just plain boring. It wasn't long before the two had exchanged names and started on the way to a lasting friendship.

After that, Chouji's life started to take a turn for the better. He began to stand up for himself a little more, against the kids who would make fun of him and put him down, to the point where they stopped trying altogether when it became obvious that Chouji wasn't going to allow himself to be bowled over. And with the extra confidence, Chouji was able to get out there and make more friends, and although none of them would ever be as close to him as his first and best friend, it was still a positive influence on his life.

Despite the fact that schooling issues pulled the two apart for a while, Chouji continued to grow in a positive direction. Entering high school, he has joined the culinary club, of his own accord, and had become the friendly kind of guy that people enjoy having around.
Played by [info]ahoushi for [info]konohagakuen. I make no claims on Chouji or Shindong. I wish.
